Welcome to Salterns Academy Trust.
We are a Portsmouth‑based multi‑academy trust with a clear purpose: to serve our community by providing inclusive, high‑quality education that enables every child and young person to flourish. Across our three successful and growing schools, we support more than 3,500 students through both primary and secondary phases, ensuring that every learner is known, valued and supported to achieve their very best.
Inclusion sits at the heart of our work. We are deeply committed to equity, belonging and opportunity, and we strive to create learning environments where every child feels safe, respected and able to succeed, whatever their background, starting point or individual needs. We firmly believe that inclusive practice strengthens not only outcomes for children, but the wider community we serve.
We are an ambitious Trust, with high aspirations for our students, our staff and our schools. We know that excellent education changes lives, opening pathways and possibilities for the future. That belief drives our focus on strong teaching, thoughtful curriculum design and continuous improvement across all our schools.
Our people make this work possible. We are proud to be a caring and supportive employer of over 450 staff, combining high expectations with investment in professional development and collaboration. Through our partnerships with other Trusts, we strengthen and support our collaborative approach to school improvement and staff professional development, and our work as a delivery partner for the HISP Learning Partnership supports Early Career Teachers, mentors and the delivery of National Professional Qualifications for school leaders across Portsmouth. A strong commitment to Relational and Restorative Practice underpins all aspects of our work at Salterns Trust, and we are proud of the deliberate way we build and sustain trusting relationships that create a culture in which all our adults and children feel empowered to be aspirational for themselves and for their community as a whole.
As a Trust, we value community and partnership. We recognise that lasting impact is achieved by working together with others who share our commitment to young people and to the city we serve. Our partnerships include Portsmouth City Council, the University of Portsmouth, the Portsmouth Education Partnership, the Royal Navy, and a wide range of schools, colleges and multi‑academy trusts, locally and beyond. We are proud of our work in Languages education, providing regional system leadership through establishing the Solent Language Network under the direction of the National Consortium for Languages Education.
