Mayfield School is a co-educational school in Portsmouth, serving students from Reception to Year 11. Since 1932, the school site has played an important role in educating generations of local children, and the current school is the city's only all-through school, providing a seamless educational journey within one community.

At the heart of a diverse and thriving locality, Mayfield is guided by its vision to Believe. Achieve. Succeed. and its values of Ambition, Inclusion and Respect, which pervade all aspects of school life. The school is committed to knowing every child as an individual, fostering positive relationships and providing an ambitious, inclusive education that enables all children to thrive.

In 2021, Mayfield entered a new chapter with the opening of its purpose-built campus, which provides outstanding facilities for learning, sport, performance and community use. Alongside strong pastoral support and high expectations, students benefit from a wide range of enrichment opportunities that help them develop confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.

Mayfield joined Salterns Academy Trust in 2024, becoming part of a locally focused family of schools committed to improving outcomes and opportunities for young people across Portsmouth. Through collaboration, shared expertise and professional development, the school continues to strengthen its provision for children and their families. As part of the Trust, Mayfield is well placed to build on its proud history while ensuring that every child is supported, challenged and inspired to achieve their potential.
